Choosing artificial grass in a Moroccan climate
Two products can look identical in a showroom and behave very differently after three summers. The difference is in the specification, not the appearance.
Fibre type
Monofilament fibres resist UV better and recover their shape after being walked on. Fibrillated fibres are cheaper and flatten faster. For anything with regular traffic, monofilament is the default choice. UV treatment is not optional under the Moroccan sun: it is what stops the colour turning after a few seasons.
Density
Expressed as stitches per m² or as weight, density determines how the surface holds up. A sparse grass shows its backing as soon as the fibres lie down, and traffic routes mark quickly.
Pile height
- 20 to 30 mm: circulation routes, terraces, poolside. Easy to clean, does not flatten.
- 30 to 40 mm: gardens and living spaces, for a natural look and comfort underfoot.
- 40 mm and above: eleven-a-side football, where the fibre carries the infill and cushions the step.
Backing and drainage
A thin backing tears at the cut edges and lifts over time; a reinforced backing holds tension and keeps seams closed. Drainage is a property of the whole build-up, not just the perforated grass: on soil it means excavation and a draining sub-base, and on a terrace the water must still reach the existing outlets.

Certified sports surfaces
Where a project needs it, our football ranges are FIFA Quality and FIFA Quality Pro certified, tested in the laboratory and on the pitch. Padel ranges are FEP approved, with the sand level set at installation and checked again after the first weeks of play, because it governs ball speed and grip.
