Villa garden in 30 mm grass

A strip of garden running along a villa, finished in 30 mm artificial grass, with stone stepping slabs and beds of palms and banana plants.

The second photo shows the base before laying: platform levelled and compacted, slabs already set at their final height. That stage is what decides the finished look. A poorly levelled base reads through the grass in the first low sunlight, and slabs bedded in afterwards always leave a step against the pile.

The cuts follow the edge of the beds and the outline of every slab, with no visible patched-in strip. Along the glazing, the grass runs up against the threshold so the junction stays clean seen from inside.

30 mm suits the use: an ornamental garden that is looked at as much as it is walked across. The C-section fibre stands back up after footfall, which avoids worn tracks on the route between the glazing and the far end.
